Introduction:
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital (HKH) is a major metropolitan hospital within Northern Sydney Central Coast Health (NSCCH). HKH services a wide geographical area from the Hawkesbury River to Roseville, from St Ives to Cherrybrook and Epping.
The available services include*: emergency, surgical, medical, mental health, rehabilitation and aged care, women’s health and child & adolescent services as well as the Community Health Centres located at Berowra, Brooklyn, Galston, Pennant Hills, Turramurra (Hillview) and Wiseman’s Ferry.
As a respected provider of care since 1933, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital. It has over 15,000 admissions per year: 30,000 Emergency Department presentations and 270,000 non-inpatient occasions of service. More than 1500 staff members care for over a 250,000 people living in the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai area.

Our professional nurses and midwives apply evidence-based knowledge in the planning and provision of quality patient care within an innovative, multidisciplinary health care team.
At Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Health Service there is a focus on flexibility and staff support. Staff are well supported by our Human Resources Department. There is a strong commitment to continuing staff education, flexible rosters, a staff library, an Occupational Health and Safety program, a Rehabilitation Counsellor and a Staff Counselling Service is available.
A Child Care Centre located on the hospital campus gives preference to staff. We have security patrols, an ATM, a chapel, a kiosk and a General Practitioner Medical service.

HKH is located near the Ku-ring-gai National Park which offers some spectacular scenery and a variety of bush walking trails. The hospital is based near the F3 motor way which links Sydney with the Central Coast via a 45 minute drive. Staff can commute on the motorway from the Central Coast to work at HKH. The hospital is located 30 minutes from some of Sydney's most appealing beaches.

- Medical wards including: Acute Aged Care, Cardiology, Neurology, Respiratory, Rehabilitation.
- Critical Care: General ICU, Emergency Medicine (Only available in second year programs).
