Ryde Hospital and Community Health ServiceRyde Hospital and Community Health Service is situated in the garden suburb of Eastwood, just 12km west of the harbour and less than 10 minutes from the Olympic stadium at Homebush Bay. Ryde Hospital has a strong community association and provides acute medical, surgical, intensive care and cardiology, orthopaedic, maternity, as well as acute aged rehabilitation assessment services for its patients and community. The nursing division has clinical teaching, education and research affiliations with ACU, UTS, UWS and Sydney University. The hospital has a swimming pool, tennis courts, childcare centre, free parking and staff accommodation.

Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai

Hornsby Hospital and Community Health ServiceHornsby Hospital and Community Health Service is situated on Sydney’s upper north shore. Located 5 minutes from the F3 expressway, Hornsby is a popular workplace for Central Coast residents. It is recognised as a trauma centre and teaching hospital, offering further knowledge and skill development for the newly graduated nurse and the already experienced nurse professional. Hornsby Hospital and Community Health Service has a thriving community, with shopping centres, cinemas, and restaurants and is located on the outskirts of the Ku-ring-gai National Park.


Northern Beaches

Mona Vale Hospital and Community Health ServiceManly Hospital and Community Health Service has the best views in Sydney. Apart from the beautiful harbour, the hospital offers opportunities for staff to develop a range of professional skills. Acute care services include critical care, emergency medicine, obstetric, medical, psychiatric, surgical and orthopaedic services. Non-acute services include rehabilitation, drug and alcohol services and group homes for people with mental illness. Manly Hospital has a strong community focus and it offers child, family and adolescent services, drug and alcohol, sexual health, HIV prevention and mental health services. Mona Vale Hospital and Community Health ServiceMona Vale Hospital and Community Health Service is located on the Pittwater Peninsula between Manly and Palm Beach - and is approximately 35 kilometres from Sydney CBD. Acute care services include: critical care; emergency medicine; obstetrics, paediatrics; medical; surgical; orthopaedics; aged care services and day surgery. Non - acute services include inpatient rehabilitation services and a wide range of Community Health Services. We have sun, surf and a relaxed lifestyle with a wide variety of sporting and leisure activities and on site accommodation for nursing and medical staff.


Central Coast

Gosford HospitalGosford Hospital is situated 100kms north of the Harbour Bridge of Sydney. It is an affiliated Teaching Hospital of the University of Newcastle and UTS and offers the following sub-specialty: acute medical, acute surgical, critical care, women children and family health and mental health. Support structures for nurses are extensive and include clinical nurse educators, core senior staff and preceptors. Educational resources are in place to assist nurses in all clinical areas, and many opportunities exist for professional and career development. The hospital has a swimming pool, tennis courts, childcare centre, ample parking and staff accommodation.


Wyong HospitalWyong Hospital is a newly built hospital and the Wyong area is one of the fastest growing areas of NSW, Wyong is 30 km's north of Gosford and has a mixture of Emergency, General Medicine, Low Risk Maternity, Aged Care and Rehabilitation Medicine, General Surgery, Mental Health and a High dependency unit. The rapid expansion of the area is stretching the health service and, consequently, Wyong is a very busy hospital. Professional development and continuing education is encouraged and supported with opportunities for nurses to develop and maintain their skills and knowledge across generalist and specialist nursing practice. Support for nurses include clinical nurse educators, nurse educators, clinical nurse consultants and clinical nurses with expert skills.


Woy Woy HospitalWoy Woy Hospital is situated at an approximate 20 minute walk to the railway station and staff/visitor parking is readily available. The Hospital enjoys a strong community alliance and the single storey buildings stand within a serene environment surrounded by native trees on a fl at sandy surface. All patient rooms have doors opening to garden and tree lined grounds. The hospital includes general medical and designated rehabilitation units. Ambulatory care services include child and adult dental, community health, physiotherapy, aqua physiotherapy, amputee, general outpatients, harm minimisation, community midwife antenatal, private after hours medical and primary care nurse service. Registered Nurses can develop independent assessment and critical thinking skills. Enrolled nurses have the opportunity to develop their skills in aged care nursing and assist in the education and training of students in a School-Based Assistant in Nursing Course.


Long Jetty Health Care CentreLong Jetty Health Care Centre is situated in a new and modern facility providing many health services to the local community. It is part of the clinical stream of Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services. The campus itself is set among trees and beautifully maintained gardens providing a pleasant environment for patients, visitors and staff. If first impressions are important, we do it well! The nursing staff are highly skilled. Clinical Practice Development (CPD) is used as a method of improving practice or making changes. Management actively supports staff with education, career and professional development opportunities. Nursing staff from all levels of nursing at Long Jetty can consolidate their clinical practice by undertaking further studies.


Mental Health

Macquarie HospitalMacquarie Hospital is a specialised and purpose built mental health facility located in the geographic centre of Sydney. It is situated on a 135-acre site surrounded by parklands and National Park. The site is well serviced by public transport (bus & train) and is about 15 min. from Sydney CBD.  Macquarie Hospital offers acute and rehabilitation admission facilities for adults in a catchment population of approximately 750,000. The hospital is the only gazetted specialist mental health facility within Northern Sydney Central Coast Area Health.   Macquarie Hospital is a teaching facility that has free on-site parking, on-site accommodation and provides new graduate transition to specialty and post-graduate courses for registered and enrolled nurses. The hospital is affiliated with the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Newcastle.

Primary & Community

The Central Coast Community Nursing Service provides a comprehensive service, aiming to assist clients to remain in the security and comfort of their own home during periods of illness or disability by providing high quality nursing care from a variety of Community Health Centres across the Central Coast. The service employs fully qualified & experienced nurses & aides seven days per week adapting to the changing health needs of the community. Several Specialty Areas are also available from this service, such as Palliative Care, Continence, Diabetes, Stomaltherapy, Respiratory, Dementia & Wound Management. Community Nursing is a free service to all eligible residents on the Central Coast and can receive referrals from any person.

Northern Sydney Home Nursing Service (NSHNS) is a domiciliary community nursing organisation. The service operates across the Northern Sydney Health (NSH) area from six locally based Centres: Manly, Mona Vale, Hornsby, Ku-ring-gai, Ryde and North Sydney. Taking a holistic approach to care, nursing staff provide a high level of personalised nursing in the home. The service continually strives to respond to the needs of the community it serves and focuses on the promotion of health and prevention of illness. Staff say they love working in a culturally diverse environment and getting to know patients and their families in their own environment.

The Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney (RRCS) is committed to providing specialist rehabilitation programs for in-patient, outpatient & community based rehabilitation. Clinical specialties within RRCS are acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopaedics, burns, neurovascular trauma, older people & chronic acquired or congenital disabilities. The centre is committed to evidence based nursing practice. As a teaching hospital, we support learning & development of nurses at all levels, from assistants in nursing to post graduate studies. Our affiliations with the University of Sydney & the University of Western Sydney enables RRCS to provide opportunities for nurses to undertake clinical research and study in a supportive learning environment.

Hope Health Care

Greenwich Hospital provides inpatient, outpatient and outreach services for patients requiring geriatric rehabilitation, psychogeriatric assessment and palliative care. Staff enjoy a warm and caring environment.

Neringah Hospital is a public hospital and community service providing palliative care services. With close access to rail and just minutes from the expressway, this hospital attracts people who live on the Central Coast.

Graythwaite Nursing Home is set in the most beautiful garden surroundings, located at North Sydney, a corporate hub for the north shore. It is just minutes from the CBD across the Harbour Bridge and has spectacular harbour views.
